The five questions we get the most, grouped by area. Cannot find an answer here? Drop us a note on X.
Getting started
Sign in, fund, place a trade. Three steps, well under a minute on a fresh device.
How do I sign up?
Click Launch app, then sign in with Google or X. Reown mints an embedded wallet for you in the background — no seed phrase to copy down.Do I need a Web3 wallet?
No. The default flow uses an embedded wallet tied to your social login. If you already have a MetaMask, Rabby or hardware wallet, you can connect that instead. How do I fund my account?
Open Deposit, choose Apple Pay or USDC on Arbitrum. Apple Pay onramps land in roughly a minute; native USDC clears as soon as the bridge confirms. How do I place my first trade?
Pick a market from /markets, drag the leverage slider on the trade panel, set your size, and hit long or short. We sign, route, and settle on Hyperliquid.
Wallet & onramp
How money moves in and out, and what the various wallet flows mean.
What is Reown?
Reown (formerly WalletConnect) is the auth layer. It hands us a Wagmi-compatible wallet client whether you signed in with X, Google, or an injected wallet. Same contract everywhere. How does Apple Pay work?
We route Apple Pay through a USDC onramp partner. You pay in your local currency, the partner buys USDC and delivers it to your Hyperliquid balance. Min $5.How long does a withdrawal take?
About five minutes. Hyperliquid runs a validator round before signing the bridge transaction; you receive USDC on Arbitrum once that round closes. Why does my sub-DEX trade need a separate confirm?
Each sub-DEX has its own oracle and listing universe. The order itself routes through the same primitive, but the global asset id encodes which sub-DEX is settling — that is what we sign over.
Trading on Hyperliquid
The mechanics of a perp, surfaced through our UI.
What is a perp?
A perpetual futures contract — leveraged exposure to an asset, with no expiry. Funding rates rebalance long/short interest every hour. Liquidation if your margin runs out. What leverage can I use?
Up to the per-asset max — typically 40x on majors like BTC and ETH, lower on long-tail listings. The slider on the order form is clamped to the asset’s max.Market vs limit?
Market orders cross the book at the current best price. Limit orders rest on the book at your chosen price until filled or cancelled. Both flow through the same /exchange action. What is a thesis?
A one-line take attached to a market. Only traders with an open position on that asset can post — so the asset feed is signal, not noise.
Leaderboard & seasons
How rank and tier badges are computed.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By raw dollar PnL over the current season. We pull every entry’s account value and realized PnL straight from Hyperliquid — no off-chain points. What are the tiers?
Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Radiant — bucketed by your percentile rank within the season’s active cohort. What does X-verified mean?
Sign in with X, and your handle is bound to the wallet via a typed signature. The X-verified ladder filters the leaderboard down to traders who’ve done that. How long is a season?
Ninety days. At the close, we snapshot the leaderboard and reset the rank tracker for the next season.
Sub-DEXes
The HIP-3 venues that extend Hyperliquid past crypto. Nine of them, all routed through the same UI.
What is HIP-3?
A Hyperliquid improvement proposal that lets third parties spin up sub-DEXes on the shared clearing layer. Each one defines its own asset universe and oracle.Which sub-DEXes are live?
xyz (equities), flx (FX), vntl (commodities), hyna (thematic), km (indices), abcd (pre-IPO), cash (cash equities), para — plus the main perps DEX.How do I trade on a sub-DEX?
Pick a non-crypto market from /markets and we route the trade through the right sub-DEX automatically. The URL carries the venue (e.g. /trade/TSLA?dex=xyz).Is settlement different on a sub-DEX?
Margin, funding and liquidation logic are shared across the main DEX and every sub-DEX. The only thing that differs is the oracle — each sub-DEX prices its own assets.
